Read elephant: it depends how you look at things. Read is the past tense of read. In the future it would be sorrowful to have to read about the past when the time of the elephant has passed. Elephants are sometimes depicted as pink when too much alcohol affects the eyes. They are more commonly thought of as blue. The children’s book Elmer the elephant is a multi-coloured patchwork elephant.  Elephants are grey though sometimes the African species covers itself with mud and dust from the surrounding earth, which invariable is of a red ochre colour, its red hue is caused by the iron oxide traces in the decomposing rocks, some say that the colouration of the African soil is red due to the blood that has been spilt upon the land.
